Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly must a workplace accident be reported?

For a severe, multi-employee, or fatal workplace accident — immediately. Notification to Rostrud, the Social Insurance Fund, the Prosecutor's Office, and other authorities must be submitted within 24 hours. For a minor accident, notification is due within 3 days of preparing the report. Missing these deadlines is itself an administrative offense.

Who sits on the investigation commission?

The composition depends on the severity of the accident. For a minor accident, the employer forms the commission independently (at least three members). For a severe, multi-employee, or fatal accident, the commission must include representatives of Rostrud, the Social Insurance Fund, and local government authorities. An improperly formed commission makes the Form N-1 report vulnerable to challenge.
